Current needs: Canned pineapple, mixed vegetables, diced tomatoes, chili, salmon, instant oatmeal assortment packs, snack items, shaving cream, body wash, laundry detergent.

Festival of Sharing: Hartzell is a drop off location for health kits, school kits, and flood buckets. Donations of health kits should include 1 hand towel (new), 1 washcloth (new), 1 toothbrush, 1 nail clipper, 10 band-aids, and 1 wide tooth comb. School kits should include 3 spiral notebooks, 1 box of 24 count crayons, 1 blunt edge kid’s scissors, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 12″ ruler, 1 large eraser, and 6 unsharpened pencils. Food buckets should include 4 souring pads, 7 sponges, 1 scrub brush, 18 handi-wipes, 1 50 oz or 2 25 oz bottle of liquid detergent, 1 16 oz bottle of dish liquid, 1 household cleaner 9 mixed with water, 48-50 clothespins, 2 50 ft. or 1 100 ft. clothesline, 5 dust masks, 2 pairs of heavy duty dishwashing gloves, 1 pair of work gloves (cotton with leather palms), 1 bottle of non aerosol insect repellent, and 25-28 heavy duty 30-45 gallon trash bags. All donations should be received by September 12.

Hartzell United Methodist Church also collects items for the homeless via Maslow’s Army (current needs include new socks, gloves, and hats), old eyeglasses and sunglasses for the Lyon’s Club, pill bottles for Matthew 25 Ministries, and shoeboxes for kids at Christmas through Operation Christmas Child.

Hartzell United Methodist Church is also actively involved in Habitat for Humanity (building houses), Jail Ministry (ministering to inmates), and the Interfaith Hospitality Network (providing food).
